    The Collection's fourth release, Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1991, exudes a mellow fruitiness that befits its years. Long matured in ex bourbon casks, each of these parcels was honoured with a finish lasting more than a decade. From the finest ex oloroso sherry casks, one gained a wonderful spice and sweetness. 

    The second parcel, finished in ex burgundy casks, gained bold meat and truffle notes. And although the character of these whiskies seemed utterly incongruous, Dr Bill saw something extraordinary. With a master distiller's flair, he married these parcels with the softest hint of a third parcel of spirit finished in new toasted oak. This final finesse brought their powerful characters together in implausible harmony. 

    As a vintage whisky, all the whisky in our 4th release of the Bond House No. 1 Collection was distilled in 1991. The whisky then matured on the banks of the Dornoch Firth until Dr Bill decided it had reached its prime. 

    At this point, in 2018, we bottled the whisky thereby stopping the ageing process and resulting in a 26 year old whisky.  Confounding expectation with its rare assemblage, this 26 year old single malt whisky displays all the mellow depth that the most accomplished ageing can bring. Its rich, plummy intensity, overlaying the familiar subtleties of the Distillery's house style, commands the connoisseur's regard.

    Introduction:
    Glenmorangie's whisky makers use endless imagination and five key ingredients - wood, water, barley, yeast and time - to dream up delicious single malt whiskies. They've been honing their craft for more than 175 years. They create a delicate and fruity spirit in stills as tall as a giraffe to allow for more taste and aroma. Led by Director of Whisky Creation Dr Bill Lumsden, this crackerjack crew are on a mission to bring new flavours and possibilities to the world of single malt.

    The Bond House No.1 Collection's vintage expressions are all exceptionally fine and smooth. The series celebrates Glenmorangie's most prestigious aged whiskies with particularly delicious results. It is named after Bonded Warehouse No. 1 - the largest of Glenmorangie's traditional 19th-century warehouses - transformed into the Distillery's majestic new still house in 1990.

    The Bond House No. 1 whiskies have all been lauded at prestigious industry competitions for their wondrous tastes:

    Releases:
    Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1990, released in 2016, won first place at the International Whisky Competition (IWC), in the category Single Malt Whisky (Highland) and gold medals at the International Wine and Spirits Competition and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. 

    Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1989, released in 2018, was rewarded with a gold award at the International Spirits Challenge. At the IWC, it won Best Single Malt Scotch 25 Years and Over.

    Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1993, released exclusively in Travel Retail in 2018, was awarded gold at the 2018 Global Travel Retail Spirits Masters. 

    Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1991, released in 2019, was named Whisky of the Year by the IWC in 2019.

    Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1995, released exclusively in Travel Retail in 2020, received gold medals at the ISC and the SFWSC in 2020.

    Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1996, also released in 2020, was awarded gold medals at the IWSC and ISC in 2020, and won Best Highland Single Malt and Best Single Malt Scotch Whisky 19-24 Years at the IWC. 

    Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1997, released in 2021, won a double gold at the SFWSC, and was named Best Single Malt 19-25 Years by the IWC and Best Highland Single Malt.
