    Chandon Rose (Sparkling Wine) - Argentina

     
    Introduction:
    Chandon Rosé is a fresh, vibrant and elegant aperitif style. Enticing and distinctive it has a long, generous palate and a bright, crisp finish.

    Made in the méthode traditionelle style, the freshness and delicate character of Chandon Rosé can be enjoyed among friends on its own and equally with a variety of dishes.

    Tasting Notes:
    Its bright, intense pink colour enhanced by the Malbec expresses sensuality and liveliness.
     
    On the nose fresh and silky, with an outstanding red fruit presence and typical Malbec and Pinot Noir notes, this wine has delicate panettone aromas from lees contact
     
    Pleasant and lively on the palate, Chandon rosé is perfectly balanced through the art of assemblage between the elements of fruit, creamy texture and structure.

    Dishes: Bresaola, grilled pink salmon with baked red bell peppers, beef tenderloin strips with three-colour peppers, papardelle pasta with prawns

    Grape Variety:
    Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are the dominant varieties, with a small addition of Malbec. 6 gr. / litre.

    Best served: Between 6 and 8 degrees, and can be cellared for 3-5 years

    Background Information:
    Domaine Chandon was established by French champagne house Moët & Chandon in 1986 and is dedicated to the production of méthode traditionnelle sparkling wine and premium quality, cool-climate still wines.
     
    For Chandon Argentina the wine is made using the méthode traditionelle from grapes grown at between 1,100-1,500m altitude in the Uco Valley vineyards established by its parent company in 1959. 

    Although a wider range is available in its domestic market, where Chandon claims a 50% share of the total Argentine sparkling wine category, the brand's initial UK offering will be a white blend of 50/50 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, as well as a rosé blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and "a hint" of Malbec. 

    Both wines have been made in a drier style than their domestic equivalent with just 6g/l dosage and, although based on the 2011 vintage, feature around 25% reserve wines from 2010.

    Chandon has well-established operations in California, Brazil, Argentina and Australia. 2013 saw the launch of the first wines from Chandon India, while Chandon China is due for domestic release this September.
